Carioca Beaches

In Rio de Janeiro the beaches are not just a physical place, but rather a state of mind, a soul experience. Since child, inhabitants of Rio learned to share with the sand theirs emotions and theirs passions. So the beach become the set where daily life can represent itself in a more theatrical manner, appearing as if immersed in a illusory world. The beach is the moment of dreaming, of intimacy, of confessions, when reality enters a more dreamlike vision, retrieving perhaps a deeper sense of things. Is the place where the human condition enters to a surreal dimension, a universe to all appearances blurred but in which the consciences show themselves, their aspirations and their delusions. Living the beach, taking photographs of its own atmospheres and wandering in its own lights, only so it’s possible to understand the deep identity of the Carioca life.


A Rio de Janeiro les plages ne sont pas seulement un lieu physique, mais plutôt un état d'esprit, une expérience onirique. Ainsi, la plage devient un terrain de jeu où la vie quotidienne peut se représenter d'une manière plus théâtrale: moments de rêve, d'intimité, de confessions…Peut-être le lieu où la condition humaine pénètre une dimension surréaliste, un univers aux apparences floues, mais dans lequel la conscience révèle ses aspirations et ses délires. C'est seulement en vivant la plage, en photographiant ses atmosphères particulières et en prennant le temps d'errances dans ses propres lumières, qu'il est donc possible de comprendre l'identité profonde des cariocas.
